For EAs

Introduction

Hi, I'm Hana.

I used to be a Data Consultant studying Philosophy, now I am a Philosopher looking at data. I've been recently elected a chairperson of the Czech Association for Effective Altruism.
I am interested in a wide range of intellectual topics - mainly critical thinking, measuring impact, good feedback, uncertainty, AI Safety (and how to make HAAISS better), epistemology, ethics, philosophy of mind and I'm currently researching emotion, rationality, values and democracy.

How can I help you?

  • It can be valuable to schedule a call if:

    • You want to know what we are up to in the Czech Association for Effective Altruism.

    • You want to collaborate with us, meet us in Prague, share your way of doing EA.

    • You want to discuss my favourite topics or questions.

  • Questions I ask myself and would like to discuss:

    • How to explain things and what does it mean to understand something?

    • How much knowing something differs from being able to explain something?

    • What is the best strategy to improve institutional decision making?

    • What is the best starting place for interventions in policy making?

    • How totalitarian regimes increase exitential risks?

    • What could be the best methodology for experimental philosophy?

    • How to improve one’s life, health and self-knowledge?

My Effective Altruism experience

  • It started in 2017, I met Michal Pokorný in a train, we talked, and he said that maybe I will be interested in something. That year, I went to a first Rationality meetup about calibration held by Jiří.

  • I liked the community and I was trying to create a critical thinking training app at the moment, so I organized the next meetup where I was trying to calibrate my excercises.

  • In February 2018, I attended my first EA weekend retreat, where I agreed on organizing Human-aligned Summer School.

  • In September 2019, I attended CFAR. Our CFAR trio was pretty active afterwards.

  • In 2020, we've been meeting regularly with my original CFAR trio and we practiced excessive tracking of all our activities. Later that year, we've split up to form some new trios.

  • I participated in Oxford EA Fellowship to enhance my knowledge about cause prioritization, predictions, cluelessness and existential risks in 2020 and facilitated similar fellowshio in 2021 in Prague.

  • At the begining of 2021 I started to implement some feedback mechanisms in CZEA. I was also elected to the board of the association in March.

  • At the end of 2021, I've been elected a chairperson and I plan to develop the organisation towards good epistemic and increase its actionability.
